Heartstrings Extra p3 - Berries need love too by TriteBristle Heartstrings Extra p3 - Berries need love too by TriteBristle
Just Collie doing what she's best at (apart from tending ponies' dental problems, of course). :3

Also, bad DD! No spying on ponies, even if you smell hugs in the air! ):<

Good grief, this one took more than two weeks to make. The main .svg file for this is a great mess! :D (And yep, I'm still bad at interior design. :3)

The next one will take quite a bit of time to make too, as the next two weeks will be full of tests and project deadlines, and I haven't even started to look after xmas presents...

So many Bronies draw berry punch in a negative light for suffering from alcholism. You on the other hand, show the horrific pain being addicted to alchol causes and how the love and devotion of a friend, family member, or even a lover can make ALL the DIFFERENCE in fighting the addiction! Bravo tritebristle! BRAVO. ^_^

DD may see shipping here, but I see my friend whom I occasionally have to remind how much I platonically love her. So apparently I disagree.

Can't it be both? ^_^

It can't be both purely platonic and romantic. My whole point was to challenge the inherent amatonormativity of automatically taking any deep and non-familial relationship as being based on eros. It is entirely necessary to me to see only philia here, otherwise I'm not saying at all what I want to say.

Sorry, by the way. I'm not usually like this, but amatonormativity is just the one thing that gets me in a bit of a social justice warrior mood. Also I like saying "amatonormativity."

Seriously, though, amatonormativity is a problem, and somebody needs to spread the word.

What exactly is amatonormativity?

Strictly speaking (to the extent that you can say "strictly speaking" about a word that was surely coined very recently and is very nonstandard), it refers to the idea that everybody should be interested in romance. Just look at the roots: "amato-" from the Latin for "love," and "-normativity" from okay I think you know where "-normativity" comes from. However, I generally use it to also refer to the idea that everybody should be interested in sex, since that's a closely related norm. I've considered distinguishing them by using "eronormativity" for the second, that being a word I coined to refer to both concepts before I encountered the word "amatonormativity," but frankly I just don't think "eronormativity" sounds nearly as good as a word.

I've heard it complained that society, as a whole, doesn't believe bisexuality exists. Personally, I'm not impressed with that complaint. At least people actively have a viewpoint on bisexuality at all. For people think asexuality/aromanticality doesn't exist, they'd have to have heard of it at all. Amatonormativity is so pervasive that there are even words, "kalosexual" and "kaloromantic," describing people who have so internalized amatonormativity that they think that feeling like there's something wrong with them is an inherent part of them. (if anybody who identifies as kalosexual or kaloromantic sees that, there's going to be an argument here for sure.) I consider myself quite lucky to have figured out my orientation so soon as my sophomore year of college, because just like everybody else, I was brought up to automatically assume my orientation simply does not exist. And that's why I'm a bit belligerent about asexual awareness; trying to ensure people at least vaguely remember is the least I can do to try to keep us from being forgotten by the few who have ever heard of us.

We may only be about 1% of the population (which has a slight advantage in justifying stupid "we are the one percent" jokes), but we still exist. I will not stand idly by as we continue to be ignored.
