If a swirling sea (i.e. a whirlpool) disapproves of a naval vessel, it will reduce it to a pile of saltwater-soaked timbers and maybe some canvas or other things that float.

The near one will be a frigate from Age of Empires 3.
She can sense romantic affection "emitted" by ponies, but can't sense whom the affection is directed to. E.g., in the 4th extra page, she could sense that the guy is deeply in love, but she couldn't determine "the target" of that love. She saw the guy earlier with a mare though, and noted that the affection is strongest when he's looking at her. (The girl showed signs of interest too.) So DD completes her senses with keen observation.
And to answer your question, nope, she couldn't really sense that somepony's in love with her, but she could definitely sense that that somepony is in love with someone. And hopefully, notice that that somepony is staring at her. :3
(Incidentally, this is how the romantic side-story will begin with her as the protagonist. xD)
